Our group will be working together to construct a solar water heater. The goal of the solar water heater is to take advantage of arguably one of the most abundant sources of energy on earth and use that energy to sustainably and efficiently heat water which can be used for a variety of purposes like cooking, cleaning, and showering. Solar water heaters have been made in various ways before. We will be making one of our own, that can supposedly get water to a temperature of 60 degrees. The main reason we want to create a solar water heater is for it to be used by the people in need at a boarding school in Uganda, Africa. They struggle with the cost needed to heat up water for their daily needs. We want to help lessen the cost and help out in a way they would feel comfortable.
